Goose Head Mountain, with an elevation of 1,579 meters, is Taiwan's Little Hundred Peaks No. 31. It is located at the border between Nanzhuang Township in Miaoli County and Wufeng Township in Hsinchu County. The mountain gets its name from its shape, which resembles the fleshy crown on a goose's head. Situated at the junction of Hsinchu and Miaoli, Goose Head Mountain serves as the boundary between the northern and southern Saisiyat tribes. It is also a living area for the Atayal people and Hakka communities. The mountain is a popular hiking destination and a summer retreat for cooling off. Although the summit does not offer panoramic views, the trail itself is captivating. Walking through the straight cedar forest is refreshing and pleasant. If you're lucky, you might encounter a sea of clouds greeting you as you step out of the trail. You can sit down, admire the enchanting dance of the clouds and mountain mist, and take a moment to relax and daydream.
