Hike up Huoyanshan (Volcano Mountain) in Taiwan

We did a hike up this lovely scenic mountain in Taiwan located between Taichung and Miaoli. Huoyanshan gets its name from its flame-red slopes that are an instantly recognisable landmark. We were the only foreigners, everyone else we met were Taiwanese. The trail itself is about 7-8km long which took us 5 hours with a lunch break in between. Remember to pack your own food and water because there are no shops on the mountain!
