On the red earth, wind, light and me

#ThailandFlightEvent The moment I entered Monument Valley, I was speechless. The towering rocks stood on the endless red plains, as if they were embracing the years. It was quiet there, but that silence was rather deafening. The wind, the smell of the soil, the sunlight—all so real. A place so unfamiliar and intense that I couldn't tell if it was reality or a dream. In Antelope Canyon, where I had visited before, the sunlight streamed down between the canyons, and at Horseshoe Bend, I stopped walking on the curve. The Grand Canyon was still overwhelming, and in Bryce and Zion, I first learned that the shape of the land could be so different. But Monument Valley was different. Just by looking at it, the noises inside me turned off one by one.
