Wat Sangkhathan, Nonthaburi

Wat Sangkhathan is located in Nonthaburi province. It is a clean and serene temple with ample parking space, making it an ideal place for practicing meditation and mindfulness. The temple welcomes both male and female Buddhists to register for meditation practice sessions without any fees. Inside the beautiful ordination hall, you can pay respects to the relics of the Buddha and the revered monks of Thailand for blessings. The hall also houses the ancient Luang Pho To Buddha statue in the U-Thong art style. The riverside Thai-style pavilion is made entirely of golden teak wood, with intricately carved pillars depicting the life of the Buddha. The craftsmanship is truly impressive. Inside the pavilion, there is a large carved statue of Luang Pho To on the ground floor, while the second floor houses the remains of the former abbot, Luang Pho Sanong Katapunyo. Wat Sangkhathan is an ancient temple, believed to have been originally named Wat Sarikho, built in the late Ayutthaya period. It was abandoned for hundreds of years, but locals continued to worship Luang Pho To and invited monks from nearby areas to offer Sangkhathan, leading to the temple being commonly known as Wat Sangkhathan.
