In 2017, it was chosen as the number one place in the "Breathtaking Views in the World You Want to See Before You Die" series, which drew attention, and since then, it has become one of Akita's top tourist spots. The best time to see hydrangeas is usually from mid-June to early July. This year, 2025, the flowers bloomed a little later, and the best time to see them seemed to continue until around mid-July.
