Osaka Cherry Blossom Viewing - Kema Sakuranomiya Park

JR Sakuranomiya in Osaka, a station name that evokes the romance of spring cherry blossoms, truly lives up to its name. As soon as you step out of the station, you’ll find yourself at the famous cherry blossom viewing spot—Kema Sakuranomiya Park. Located along the upper reaches of the Okawa River, this riverside park spans both Miyakojima Ward and Kita Ward in Osaka City. Since the Edo period, the riverside area near Sakuranomiya has been renowned as a prime cherry blossom viewing destination. Sakuranomiya Park is composed of Nanten Tenma Park, Kema Park, and Buson Park, collectively known as Kema Sakuranomiya Park, stretching over 4.2 kilometers. Every spring, more than 4,000 cherry trees bloom in the park, creating a stunning pink landscape along both sides of the river. Visitors can enjoy a scenic walk all the way to Tenmabashi and the Mint Bureau, where the cherry blossoms are equally breathtaking.
