Osaka Travel Review – A Lovely City That Melts Your Heart “Osaka is not just a city you should visit, but a city that once you’ve been there… you won’t want to go back.” 🇯🇵🍡✨ If Japan were to be compared to a person, Osaka would be a playful, cheerful best friend who invites you to eat, shop, and smile all day long. Because Osaka is not a city that you have to go to with a specific plan. But it is a city where just “living” is fun. Everything here seems to be designed to make your heart race without any reason, from the smell of soup in a street stall, the Japanese that you can’t understand but sounds cute, to the night lights reflecting on the Dotonbori Canal—it’s indescribably warm. ⸻ 🍜 Happiness starts in the stomach Food is the first thing that made us fall in love with Osaka, and we fell for it without ever being able to climb back up! Every corner of the city is filled with the aroma of food, whether it’s Hot takoyaki with a slightly crispy outside and soft inside, filled with squid Topped with sweet sauce and mayonnaise, the dancing katsuobushi on top is the smell of 100% happiness. Okonomiyaki or “Japanese pizza” is also served in full force, hot, fragrant from the oven, firm texture, stretchy cheese, biting into it feels like hugging someone who loves us very much. Or a ramen shop on the side of the road that looks quiet, but when you eat it, you want to bow down to the soup. The noodles are chewy and soft, the soup is fragrant and well-rounded, the large pieces of chashu pork almost melt in your mouth, every bite is the word awesome! Not to mention the desserts like green tea soft ice cream that is just the right amount of bitter, topped with red bean sauce or Japanese pudding that is so smooth that you want to buy ten cups to take back to Thailand. And everything in the convenience store is so cute that you want to eat it all, whether it is rice balls, mochi, cookies or even juice boxes. ⸻ 🎡 Universal Studios Japan – A tangible fantasy world One of the main reasons for wanting to come to Osaka is USJ – Universal Studios Japan because this is a dream theme park that no matter how many years pass, you still want to come back again. Walking through the gate, you are greeted by a world of endless fun. The Harry Potter zone is the best! There is a towering Hogwarts, perfectly sweet pumpkin juice, the Three Broomsticks shop, a Hogwarts candy shop, and rides that are both fun and magical. There is also the Minion zone, filled with cute yellows, cute songs, and irresistible merchandise! Walk a little further and you will find Super Nintendo World, where everything looks like it came out of a Mario game. Just a few steps from the entrance to the theme park, our hearts feel like they have traveled across dimensions to a world of imagination, where every corner is a memory that we want to bring back and smile again and again. 💛🎮 ⸻ 🏯 Osaka Castle – The tranquility of the city center In the hustle and bustle of the big city, there is still a beautiful peaceful corner like Osaka Castle, which is like a place to rest our hearts. We walked into a lush green garden, saw tall trees, small flowers, and a cool breeze that gently brushed our cheeks. The white, green, and gold castle stands in the middle of a large garden like a prince in a fairy tale. Some people come to walk around, some people sit and read books, some people lie down and play with cats, and some people just smile at each other. It is a simplicity filled with happiness. We sat eating rice balls on a wooden bench, watching Japanese children running around without using their phones at all, and felt that “Osaka has some kind of magic that makes everything look beautiful even though it’s ordinary.” 🌿🌤️ ⸻ 🚇 The train is not just a passing through, but a memory. The train in Osaka is more than just a vehicle, it’s a “safe space for the mind” for travelers like us. We saw people wearing Japanese school uniforms carrying big bags, old men reading newspapers seriously, old women sewing cloth bags by hand, or even couples laughing and sharing steamed buns. It was like a scene from a manga that came to life. Sometimes, just sitting still and letting the train take us without thinking too much is the best way to relax. ⸻ 🛍️ The Streets of Temptation: Shinsaibashi & Namba Osaka is a city of unplanned shopping, but you leave the store with both hands full of bags! The Shinsaibashi and Namba areas are full of cute shops, including Japanese cosmetics, Harajuku-style clothes, Daiso shops with good, affordable products, souvenir shops, hidden cafes, and stationery shops that make your heart beat faster. There was a time when we stood there choosing cat stickers for a long time because they were all cute. Then a Japanese auntie came up to us and quietly said, "This one is cute too." She smiled at us. That was the warmest moment of the day. ⸻ 🧸 Osaka is tangible cuteness. Everything in Osaka looks soft in its own way. The streets, the people, the cafes, the restaurants, the sweet shops, the shops, even the stray cats around Dotonbori seem friendly. Osaka doesn't pretend to be a perfect city, but it is a city full of cute realism and makes us want to be our best selves again. Whether you come alone, as a couple, or with friends, Osaka will hug you warmly without saying anything. 🥺💕 ⸻ 🎀 The conclusion that I don't want to end Osaka is not a city that you have to "visit". It is a city where you just have to "stay and feel". Every laughter of students in the park, every steam of hot takoyaki, every Japanese word we don't understand, and every neon light along the canal on a windy night...come together into a book of memories that we want to read again.
