Phra That Chom Thong

Wat Phra That Chom Thong is located in Ban Tom Subdistrict, Mueang Phayao District, Phayao Province. It is considered a sacred place of the city and an important temple that enshrines Phra That Chom Thong. Inside, there are hair relics and the right arm relic of the Lord Buddha. However, there is no evidence of when this relic was built, but it has been renovated many times. Phra That Chom Thong is a bright golden color and is located on Doi Chom Thong. It is a Lanna-style pagoda 30 meters high, on a square base, 9 meters wide, stacked in three layers. The top is a golden umbrella. The base is covered with metal sheets embossed with the 12 zodiac animals and Thai patterns. Across from the temple is a garden by the river. We went there and it was under construction. It is not finished yet, but we could walk to see the view. It is very beautiful. It is like a pavilion by the river. It is white. In the evening, you can walk and exercise. The area is very spacious.
