Exploring Pristina: A Glimpse into Europe’s Youngest Capital

#citypassguide #kosovo #pristina Kosovo, one of Europe's youngest countries, is still finding its rhythm — and so is its capital, Pristina. While it may not offer an overwhelming number of tourist attractions, a short visit provides a glimpse into a nation rebuilding itself with quiet determination. Things to See in Pristina Newborn Monument Perhaps the most iconic sight in the city, the Newborn sculpture was unveiled in 2008 to mark Kosovo’s declaration of independence. It’s repainted regularly with different themes, reflecting the country's evolving identity. Skanderbeg Square A central square featuring the statue of national hero Skanderbeg. It’s a popular meeting point, surrounded by government buildings and casual cafés. Mother Teresa Cathedral Opened in 2010, this elegant Romanesque-style cathedral is dedicated to Saint Teresa, who was ethnically Albanian. The tower offers panoramic views of the city (if open). Kosovo Museum Unfortunately, it was closed during our visit. It’s worth checking the opening hours in advance if you’re interested in learning about the region's complex history. Travel Tips Transportation: You can purchase a 24-hour public transport ticket, which can be cost-effective if you're planning to explore. Accommodation: We stayed at Prishtina Center Hostel and were quite satisfied. It’s centrally located, clean, and offers good value for money. Budget Snapshot Coffee: ~€1 Hamburger: ~€7 Bus from Pristina to Tirana: €15.5 #citypassguide
