Otatomari Swamp

#thingstodo One of the more popular spot on the Risihiri island, there are a number of seafood sellers. It's a bliss to enjoy the seafood while taking in the good views on a good day. There's also a scenic white deck at the lake which is a splendid photo spot. There's a small roadside station here too! Plenty of parking spots at this location. I highly recommend this place.

Otatomari Swamp is a very popular tourist spot that is said to be the busiest on Rishiri Island. Before COVID-19, it was full of foreign visitors to Japan. A beautiful swamp surrounded by a virgin forest of red spruce trees. The world created by the blue lake surface and Mt. Rishiri is an impressive sight. If the weather and other conditions are right, you might even be able to see an upside-down Rishiri Fuji?!
