The Great Stupa of Chai Mongkol

Phra Maha Chedi Chai Mongkol is located in Wat Phanamthip Thepprasit Wararam, Tambon Phanam Yoi, Amphoe Nong Phok, Roi Et Province. It is a large and exquisite pagoda that uses contemporary art from the Central and Northeastern regions, combining Phra Pathom Chedi and Phra That Phanom. The construction budget has been over 3 billion baht to date and was built by “Phra Ajarn Sri Mahawiro”, a disciple of Phra Ajarn Man Phurithatto. Phra Maha Chedi Chai Mongkol was designed by the Fine Arts Department in white and decorated with dazzling gold and yellow patterns, surrounded by small pagodas in all 8 directions. It was built on an area of ​​101 rai, 101 meters wide, 101 meters long, and 101 meters high, including the gold spire, totaling 109 meters. It used 4,750 baht of gold, or approximately 60 kilograms.
