The Radiance of Autumn in Samcheok [National Treasure Jukseoru]

Jukseoru is the largest pavilion among the Eight Scenic Views of Gwandong and is uniquely located by a river rather than the sea. Beneath Jukseoru, there used to be an ancient temple called Jukjangsa, which is said to be the origin of the pavilion's name. Estimated to have been built in the 12th century, Samcheok's Jukseoru stands out for its architectural ingenuity. Instead of traditional foundation stones, its pillars are erected on the natural rock formations and bedrock along the Osipcheon River.
