San Francisco, a travelogue full of emotions created by the sea and hills

#July Travel Support Fund San Francisco was special from the first impression. The cool sea breeze, the cityscape covered in sea fog, and the Victorian houses lined up on the hill created a romantic atmosphere. The Golden Gate Bridge, seen from afar, showed off its overwhelming presence as a symbol of this city. The first course of the trip was the Golden Gate Bridge. The orange bridge was much more magnificent in person, and I couldn't help but be amazed by the panoramic view of the ocean and the city as I walked on the bridge. The view from the Marin Headlands Observatory was the representative scene of San Francisco. After that, I took a boat and visited Alcatraz Island. This former prison had an interesting history along with a gloomy atmosphere. Listening to the audio guide and looking around the solitary confinement and prison, I felt as if I had traveled back in time. For lunch, I tried sourdough clam chowder at Fisherman's Wharf. Sea lions were leisurely resting at Pier 39, and street performances and souvenir shops added to the liveliness. The zigzag road on the hill, Lombard Street, was so pretty with flowers and gardens that it was perfect for taking pictures. In the evening, I finished the day by enjoying pasta and wine at North Beach. On the last day, I walked around Golden Gate Park and looked around the Japanese garden and art museum. It was a space where nature and art coexisted even in the city, so it was a leisurely and healing time. San Francisco was a city where the sea, hills, culture, and gourmet food all came together.
