San Francisco, a romantic travel story hidden in the fog

#July Travel Support Fund San Francisco was special from the first impression thanks to the sea breeze and the scenery created by the hills. The Golden Gate Bridge, slightly covered in sea fog, stood as a symbol of the city, and the Victorian houses lined up on the hills felt like a scene from a movie. The first place I visited was the Golden Gate Bridge. The orange bridge was much more magnificent in person, and the cool breeze and open ocean view while walking on the bridge were impressive. The bridge and the cityscape seen from the Marin Headlands Observatory were truly amazing. After that, I took a boat to Alcatraz Island. This former prison had an interesting history along with a gloomy atmosphere. Listening to the audio guide and looking around the solitary confinement cells and prison, I felt like I had traveled through time. For lunch, I tried sourdough clam chowder at Fisherman's Wharf. Sea lions were leisurely resting at Pier 39, and it was lively thanks to street performances and souvenir shops. On the zigzag Lombard Street on the hill, I took pictures with the beautiful scenery of flowers and gardens in the background. In the evening, I finished the day by enjoying pasta and wine at an Italian restaurant in North Beach. On the last day, I walked around Golden Gate Park and looked around the Japanese garden and art museum. It was a healing time because I could feel nature and art at the same time in the city. San Francisco was a city where the sea and hills, culture and gourmet food were perfectly combined.
