Yunnan Family Trip‖Shilin, Dianchi Lake, Haigeng Dam Guide Day 2

Day two itinerary begins, departing from the hotel to Shilin, a 1.5-hour drive. Unexpectedly, the clear sky from yesterday turned to rain today, but it didn’t dampen our spirits. The Shilin after the rain was surprisingly beautiful, carrying a bit of the misty rain feeling from our Jiangnan region. You need to scan your ID at the entrance and take an electric cart inside; otherwise, it’s quite a long walk. ✓ Shilin Shilin is a World Natural Heritage site, with bizarre rock formations all naturally formed, showing me the wonders of nature’s craftsmanship. Shilin has existed for millions of years, all for a stunning first glance. We saw the Tang Dynasty stone, Lotus, Sun Wukong fighting the White Bone Demon three times, and the stone of Ashima from the dream. We admired the wonders of Ashima, Sword Peak Pool, Wangfeng Pavilion, Double Birds Crossing, Shilin Lake, Little Shilin, and other spectacular sights, savoring the magnificent scenery of “peaks standing like walls, layers of green mountains.” We spent about 2 hours touring. Today I learned that local girls are called Ashima, and boys are called Aheige, symbolizing diligence, bravery, and integrity. For lunch, we had local specialties like steam pot chicken, Yunnan crossing-the-bridge rice noodles, and steamed pork. It’s worth mentioning that the dining place was also very stylish and great for photos. ✓ Dianchi Lake Haigeng Dam From Shilin to Dianchi Lake Haigeng Dam, it’s a 1.5-hour drive. The weather wasn’t great that day, but the rain came in bursts, giving us a taste of the sea and sky blending into one. It’s a lifestyle called Yunnan. We are also like flowers listening to the wind, here now. We arrived a bit late and missed the seagulls, leaving a little regret for next time! In the evening, we had mushroom and chicken hotpot, which was incredibly delicious. After dinner, we checked into a hotel in Chuxiong. ✓ Yi People Ancient Town At night, we visited Yi People Ancient Town, where many locals were dancing at the town entrance, attracting many tourists’ attention. There were also many local snacks, but we were too full from dinner to eat more. At the museum, we saw a stunning flower wall that was truly magnificent.
