Solo Journey in Hokuriku

A seven-day solo trip through Hokuriku, starting from the quaint alleys of Kanazawa, moving to the mountain town streets of Takayama, and ending with unexpected discoveries in Toyama and Komatsu. Without driving, relying solely on public transportation, every journey allowed me to truly feel the rhythm and warmth of Japan's regional cities. The wooden old houses of Takayama's old streets, the handmade jams at Miyagawa Morning Market, and the tranquil afternoons at Hida Folk Village all gave me the sensation of stepping into Japan's timeless charm. In Toyama, the Matsukawa River, though lacking tourist boats in summer, quietly exuded a sense of everyday serenity. The Starbucks at Kansui Park and the Glass Art Museum added a modern touch to the trip. Komatsu, though small, offered clean and friendly streets and convenient connections, with Aeon Mall ensuring I returned home with plenty of souvenirs. This journey didn't feature grand landscapes or bustling nightlife, but the perfectly paced itinerary, serendipitous culinary finds, and the short travel times between stations pieced together a very ordinary yet unforgettable travel memory.
