Sigiriya Rock Fortress Travel Guide

Located in central Sri Lanka, Sigiriya Rock Fortress is one of Sri Lanka's most famous landmarks and was designated a World Heritage Site in 1982. Here's a guide to visiting Sigiriya Rock Fortress: ● Opening hours: 7:00 to 17:30 daily, last entry at 17:00. ● Ticket prices: USD 30 for adults, USD 15 for children aged 6 to 12. ● Transportation: Buses run between Dambulla and Sigiriya Rock Fortress, departing at 7:00 and returning at 19:00. ● Suggested route: After entering the scenic area, take photos of the panoramic view of Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Then, climb the steps and take photos of the natural crevices in the rock. After reaching the summit, continue forward to the outermost flat area for more photos. Return to the entrance of the stairs leading up to the lion's paws, sit on the steps to take photos, and finally descend slowly. Please note that the steps climbing Sigiriya Rock Fortress are quite steep. It is recommended to wear comfortable athletic shoes and avoid accepting help from locals, as they may demand expensive tips.
