Umbria, the Green Heart of Italy - Spoleto

Medieval Spoleto retains the atmosphere of a medieval town. It is said that the history of this place dates back to the Umbri people who lived here in the 8th century BC, making it one of the oldest towns in the Umbria region. The highlight of the town of Spoleto is the old town area, which strongly retains the atmosphere of ancient Umbrian and Etruscan times, with its blackish-gray stone buildings! The quiet and solemn feeling is nice. From the heights, you can distinguish the old town from the new town by the color of the stones used in the buildings, just like in a photograph. The Spoleto Cathedral, a representative monument, is also lovely with its rose window and golden mosaics. Of course, the lush green hills of Umbria are also known as 'the green heart of Italy,' and the endless greenery offers a healing time that makes you forget the everyday. It's a small place that can be toured in a day, but when I visited, there were Italian tourists on tours, and we were the only Asians walking around the town. It's perfect for those who like such a rare feeling to extend their trip from Rome. The view of the greenery of Umbria is also nice, making it a place where you can spend time in a relaxed mood.
