Subotica is a pretty city

Subotica (Суботица, Szabadka) Subotica is a city in southern Serbia close to the Hungarian border. When I arrived, I was surprised what a beautiful little town. The core of the city is compact and continuous with the walking streets and squares. The squares and streets are lined with beautiful buildings built in the Hungarian Secession style. The Hungarian Secession style combined art nouveau vegetal ornaments and symbolic figures with traditional Hungarian motifs. A few of the notable buildings are City Hall, Reichel Palace, Subotica Synagogue, National Theater. (Cathedral is under reconstruction.) I wanted to visit the Porcelain Museum, but it seems to be open only on weekends (Friday - Sunday). If you want to shop there is an international market, Buvljak flea market where you should go. There are daily trains between Szeged and Subotica. The railway station building and the tracks in Subotica have been completely renewed, but the station is still closed and I haven't seen any timetables at the tracks about the train departures. Fortunately, someone came and guided me. Trains return to Szeged from the last two tracks (6-7). Please be prepared accordingly I'm sure there is information in the internet but I forgot to check it. There will be a waiting time at the border on the way back, because the Hungarian border guards will inspect everyone's package in search of goods to be cleared, such as cigarettes and pálinka (a type of alcoholic beverage). #travel #city #building #secession
