If you are looking for a bit of greenery in Surabaya you should visit Taman Bungkul. The park is one of the main parks in Surabaya and a small pool of tranquility near the centre of the city. Taman Bungkul is located close to the Shangri-La Hotel and costs Rp 5,000 per person to enter. You can visit it at any time of day. The park is busiest in the evenings when you will find couples walking around and sitting on the benches. This is a lively park and heavily used by the people in Surabaya. There are fitness corner, ramps for skateboarding, water fountain, water playground, kids playground, and hawker center. Sanggar Agung Temple

Klenteng Sanggar Agung is a large Chinese temple used by adherents of Tridharma. The temple is the perfect place to visit if you are looking to escape the busy streets of Surabaya. Klenteng Sanggar Agung temple is on the edge of the city and overlooks the ocean. With hundreds of burning candles and the smell of incense hanging in the air the temple has a calm and peaceful atmosphere. This temple boasts a fantastic gate to the sea where you can see salamanders cavorting among the rocks. The temple itself is nothing special, a Buddhist Chinese prayer space. It's rather dark indoors. The temple sits incougrously inside a nearly abandoned amusement park. The rundown park makes the visit somewhat depressing. It’s strange to recommend the museum of a cigarette factory as the best thing to do in Surabaya, yet the Sampoerna Museum easily makes the top of the list. Let’s start at the beginning… Sampoerna are a famous brand of clove cigarettes from Surabaya. The Museum documents the history of the company and is also a working cigarette factory. The Sampoerna Museum is based in a grand colonial era building. The downstairs portion of the building houses the museum. There are lots of exhibits, many from the family collection, and old photos. As you tour the Museum you will see how the company started and how the advertising for Sampoerna has changed over time. Its not often you get inside a 1951 built Russian sub! This one saw good service with the Indonesian navy from 1962 and is well presented with full access other than to the conning tower. Inside, one half of the machinery has been removed to make it easier to get around but that doesnt distract from the fun of exploring. The command area is complete with attack and viewing 'scopes as well as all the dive controls. In the engine room, the head on part of one cylinders cover is removed allowing you to see the cracks etc on the powerful diesel. Great fun, would be even better with some piped sound effects! Make sure you also see the 15 min film, played on the hour at the videorama. #urbanexplorer

Fusia Resto. This is a traditional Indonesian food restaurant with modern ambience. Its specialty, Nasi Timbel, is satisfyingly delicious with reasonable price. It is perfect for family or company gathering scene. The service is also fast and pretty good. However it can be a bit loud during lunchtime due to many company lunches. Love Nasi Timbel Teri and Tahu Crispy. We can choose whether we want Nasi Timbel with chicken, duck or beef. Every table served free Sambal Bawang and Kremesan. When you placed order, just wait about 10-15 minutes, foods are coming. Kafe Bromo is Situated inside Surabaya Sheraton Hotel. Few years back I have visited this place often for business dinings. Food quality is still good now, except that variety has been reduced. I was here on a Saturday in Nov 2020 for lunch. I like to sit indoor but near the pool view. On sunny day its superb to sit and have a long buffet lunch here. Service is still good here. Buffet includes coffee. I have a few cups in my long long lunch. The Food Menu has many choices. The taste is nice, while the fruit and drink menu also good.
