Tainan "Fort Provintia"

#Taiwan City Attractions Chihkan Tower was originally built by the Dutch in 1653 AD. It was originally called "Provintia" (Provintia means eternity in Dutch), facing Anping's "Fort Zeelandia". The Han people called it "Chihkan Tower", "Fanzi Tower" or "Red Hair Tower". Although "Chihkan Tower" has been rebuilt in various dynasties, it still maintains its original appearance. The architecture of Fort Provintia is composed of three roughly square pedestals connected together, with Western-style buildings built on each pedestal. The city walls are made of oyster shell ash mixed with sugar water, glutinous rice juice as the bonding material, and red bricks and stones as the main building materials.
