Tainan - A beautiful library at the salon level: Tainan New Library

The newly completed #TainanMainLibrary in 2021 is located in the Dongqiao redevelopment area behind the Yongkang Artillery School. It stands like a giant in this new developing area. Designed by Taiwanese and Dutch architects, the high ceiling and wooden grilles with interlaced light and shadow remind people of #TainanDayuanCrown Plaza Hotel. Coincidentally, Tainan was once a Dutch colony. The high circular atrium in the lobby displays "Guest of Wind" created by British artist Paul Cocksedge. White papers are freely flying in the air, and the experience is different when viewed from different heights on the first, second and third floors. The new Tainan Library aims to be a comprehensive and research-oriented urban public library. Not only is the spatial design unique, but even the themes and furniture of each floor are very special. The floors are connected by a big red staircase. The first floor is the book lending counter and the senior citizen books and newspaper area. The second floor has a comics section for teenagers. The third floor is the K-study area and discussion room. The middle corridor on the fourth floor is the #TainanHall of Fame, with the #UbangtuLiterarySalon on one side and the foreign language book section on the other. The fifth floor is not open to the public and is the employee work area. The sixth floor is the art gallery area and Wow Theater. B1 is the children's book and exploration area, as well as #DYC coffee (roasted beans & restaurant). The design of a large number of wooden grille floor-to-ceiling windows not only provides bright lighting in the museum, but also allows the angles of light entering at different times to vary in various ways.
