Located in Tanjung Bungah, just north of George Town, the Penang Floating Mosque is the first mosque in Malaysia built over the sea. Constructed on stilts, it gives a striking illusion of floating during high tide. Established: Construction began in 2003, opened to public in January 2005, and officially inaugurated on 16 March 2007. Cost and size: Built at approximately RM15 million, the mosque covers ~1,295 m² and serves up to 1,500 worshippers. Its minaret is equivalent in height to a seven-storey building. #travel #couplestrip
