Tateyama Alpine Route - Climbing Mt. Tateyama

We depart from Tateyama Station and take a cable car and bus to Murodo. (We recommend making a reservation in advance online.) When we arrive at Murodo, we are at 2450m. The climb starts here, and we aim for the summit of Mt. Tateyama at 3015m. We start by catching our breath on the gentle route, and then we climb as if clinging to the mountain, which gets gradually tougher. Even in August, there is still snow, and I thought it might be a little cooler, but the temperature seems to be higher than usual. We reached the summit in about 2.5 hours, and then we toasted with beer before heading down. The climb took just over 5 hours in total! #Tateyama #TateyamaKurobeAlpineRoute
