Temple of Artemis

The Temple of Artemis: One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, this temple was built to honor the goddess Artemis, also known as Diana (the Greek goddess of the moon), who came from heaven and saved the city from disasters and calamities. It is a symbol of fertility that the people of Ephesus respected and revered as a source of encouragement, to the point that they made her the city's goddess and built the first temple of the goddess Artemis. Later, the temple was burned down by Hierostratus, who only wanted to immortalize his name. The Turks at that time believed that the reason the goddess Artemis could not save the temple was because the day the temple was burned was the birthday of Alexander the Great of Macedonia, so the goddess had a mission to arrange for his birth. After that, the people of Ephesus tried to rebuild the temple to be more beautiful and grander than before. Later, the temple of the goddess Artemis was destroyed again by the Goths, without restoring or rebuilding the temple of Artemis because the people of the city later converted to Christianity instead of worshiping the gods. This temple was destroyed. Columns and large stones were used to build the Sophia Cathedral in Constantinople and the Temple of St. John at Selsukh, near Ephesus. #Waiting for the day to depart
