White chedi, Wat Phra That Nong Bua

Wat Phra That Nong Bua is located in Mueang District. It is a famous and important temple in Ubon Ratchathani Province. It has beautiful and interesting architecture, namely “Phra That Chedi Si Maha Pho”, the chedi for people born in the Year of the Snake. It is modeled after the chedi in Bodh Gaya, India. It is very beautiful. The white chedi contrasts beautifully with the exquisite gold patterns. The exterior is a bas-relief painting on the outside of the chedi, telling the story of the Ten Lives of the Buddha. Below, around the chedi, are Buddhist disciples of the Buddhist order. The base supports the Phra That Chedi Si Maha Pho with Naga, Garuda, and giants. Inside the chedi, there is the principal Buddha image and many beautiful Buddha images.
