A Chaotic Senior Trip: Austria, Vienna - Day 1

Vienna [Kunsthistorisches Museum] The Kunsthistorisches Museum was built to house the Habsburg family's art collection. Emperor Franz Joseph ordered its construction to gather and display the royal collection, which had been scattered across various locations. The museum opened in 1891 near the Hofburg Imperial Palace, the emperor's residence at the time. It remains Austria's largest museum today. The interior boasts a luxurious architectural style, with an iconic octagonal dome and opulent decorations that impress visitors right from the entrance. Here, you can admire thousands of artworks collected over centuries by the Habsburg dynasty, ranging from ancient Greek and Roman times to the late Baroque period. Among the most famous pieces are Pieter Bruegel's masterpieces such as "The Tower of Babel," "The Peasant Wedding," and "Hunters in the Snow." Additionally, the museum features 'Café KHM,' often referred to as the most beautiful café in the world. Unfortunately, it was crowded, so I couldn't visit.
