Hongyun Temple

Hongyun Temple: Located at the Hongyan Cave on the southern foothills of Desheng Mountain, it was originally known as Chouyun Nunnery built in 713 AD during the Tang Dynasty by nun Chouyun. In 998 AD during the Northern Song Dynasty, it was renamed Chouyan Temple and reached its peak during the Longxing era of the Southern Song Dynasty before being destroyed in war in 1264 during the Yuan Dynasty. The current Hongyun Temple was rebuilt on its original site, with Hongyan Cave maintaining its primitive features. The original Buddhist niches and cliff carvings inside the cave remain well-preserved.
