The view above from Mount Chō

Mount Chō at 2,677 m is a mountain located in Japan. It is part of the Hida Mountains in Chūbu-Sangaku National Park, and is located in the cities of Azumino and Matsumoto in Nagano Prefecture. It is located to the south of Mount Jōnen on the ridgeline of the Jōnen Mountain Range. According to the grading of Mt. Shinshu, Mt. Chogatake has a technical grade of B (depending on the location, it may pass through streams, cliffs, snowy streams, etc., so climbing experience is required). It is also possible to make a day trip from the Mimata trailhead, but basically we recommend staying overnight at Chogatake Hütte.
