The Pinnacle of Religious Art – The Cathedral of San Salvador

The Cathedral of San Salvador in Zaragoza, also known as La Seo Cathedral, dates back to 1119 and was the first church in Spain built on the site of a former mosque, with visible traces still on its exterior walls. Featuring early Romanesque style, its construction spanned nearly 400 years, finally completed in 1520, blending Romanesque and Neoclassical elements while harmoniously incorporating styles from the 12th to the late 18th century. The cathedral's interior is richly decorated, including artworks like Goya's frescoes.
