A Glimpse of the Ancient City of Zhaotong, Yunnan

Driving back from Yunnan, I passed through Zhaotong and stumbled upon the ancient city of Zhaotong. 🌈Highlights: The ancient city is very well preserved. During the Qing Dynasty, it was known as the 'City of Guild Halls' due to the numerous guild halls that were established here. These ancient buildings have maintained their original appearance and are being properly utilized. Inside the ancient city, there are many shops selling local specialty medicinal herbs, such as Gastrodia elata, which seem to be of good quality and more reliable than those sold online. The ancient city retains a primitive style, with many local residents living here, giving it a strong local flavor. ✨Tips: It is worth mentioning that the Xinhua Bookstore is well integrated with the ancient city. Its exterior is quaint, but it holds many treasures inside.
