Visit the temple and admire Ayutthaya-style art

🏡 Wat Thong Bang Chueak Nang was built around 1847 by Mr. Thong Thupthong during the reign of King Rama III, but it was completed during the reign of King Rama IV. It is said that three brothers went to war, and upon completing their mission, each decided to build a temple to purify their minds. One built Wat Ket, another built Wat Sing, and Mr. Thong, one of the brothers, built Wat Thong. All three temples were located next to each other, with Wat Thong in the center. 🏘 Later, Wat Ket and Wat Sing became abandoned, leaving only Wat Thong, which locals commonly refer to as Wat Thong Bang Chueak Nang. Key attractions within the temple include: 🏚 The original ordination hall, a traditional Thai-style building renovated in 1971. Inside, it houses the principal Buddha image in the Ayutthaya style, in the posture of subduing Mara, along with ancient mural paintings on the doors depicting Jataka tales. 🏠 The new ordination hall, built in 1993, is a two-story structure with a gable featuring Lord Narayana riding Garuda. The walls are tiled, and the construction was primarily carried out by the monks of the temple.
