Upon arriving in Chongqing, I chose to stay at "Huazhu·Yu Wu Hotel" located in Bai Xiang Street near Jiefangbei, initially seeking convenience. However, I unexpectedly encountered the poetic charm of the misty city. Nestled in the cobblestone alleys of Bai Xiang Street, the hotel boasts a classical Chinese courtyard exterior, with wooden door frames and gray brick walls exuding a serene elegance. Stepping inside, the reception area is adorned with simple yet tasteful ceramic decorations and greenery. The staff greeted me with warm smiles, and the jasmine-scented tea offered during check-in instantly eased my travel fatigue. The rooms are themed around "mist," featuring gray-white walls paired with wooden furniture. Handmade woven curtains hang by the windows, swaying gently in the breeze and casting playful shadows. The highlight was the terrace seating area, offering a panoramic view of the layered buildings of Yuzhong Peninsula. As night fell, the lights along the two rivers sparkled like a galaxy, accompanied only by the soothing sound of water lapping against the shore. In the morning, I indulged in the hotel's signature dishes—spicy red oil dumplings and tofu pudding. The flavors were bold yet retained the essence of the ingredients. Upon departure, the innkeeper gifted me a pack of spicy beef jerky as a souvenir, encapsulating the soul of Chongqing in its rich and fiery taste. This place is not just a hotel but a brief retreat into the vibrant life of the mountain city.
