Midsummer Mint Chocolate Dream

It has been quite a while since I last enjoyed an afternoon tea at a hotel. Taking advantage of the sunny weather, I decided to relax with a friend. This time, we chose the Conrad Hong Kong in Admiralty because they launched a new theme, "Midsummer Mint Chocolate Dream," which was perfect for us. So far, I haven't seen any other place offering this theme. Shortly after placing the order, the exquisite afternoon tea set was served. It looked elegant and was perfect for Instagram-worthy photos. The savory items included three options: Mint Shrimp Tart with Coconut Pineapple Salsa, which felt refreshing and was ideal for the season. Another was Cream Cheese Cucumber Roll with Mint Tea Jelly, where the rich cream cheese was perfectly balanced with the crisp cucumber and jelly. Sandwiches are a must-have for afternoon tea, and the Mint Salmon Spread Sandwich fit the theme perfectly, with salmon roe on top adding a finishing touch. At the center, there was a gem-like mint jelly candy in a bird's nest design, which served as a palate cleanser to prepare for the sweet treats. Starting with the French Mint Chocolate Puff, it had a soft yet slightly chewy texture, complemented by mint cream and strawberries, making it quite unique. The Mint Chocolate Cone, resembling a mini ice cream, was not only adorable but also refreshing and delicious. The Mint Chocolate Mousse Cake was relatively richer in flavor. Lastly, the Mint Chocolate Panna Cotta had a mousse-like texture and was equally refreshing. Afternoon tea wouldn't be complete without scones. They offered chocolate and raisin flavors, paired with Mint Clotted Cream and chocolate sauce. As someone unfamiliar with this combination, I was pleasantly surprised by how well they matched. For two guests, they even provided a complimentary 190g Mint Crispy Dark Chocolate gift box, which was both luxurious and tasty. The afternoon tea set allows you to choose between TWG Tea or freshly brewed mint tea. However, given the hot weather, I opted for an iced coffee instead.
