Dreaming of Jiangnan! A Personal Experience at Jiaxi Inn in Jiangsu

During my trip to Jiangsu, I specifically chose to stay at "Jiaxi Inn," and it truly did not disappoint! This boutique inn, tucked away in the alleys of an ancient town, perfectly blends the elegance of Jiangnan's water towns with the comfort of modern accommodations. The inn's exterior features classic white walls and black tiles, but stepping inside reveals a whole new world. The lobby is adorned with vintage wooden decor and soft lighting, creating a warm and elegant ambiance. Though the rooms are not large, they are thoughtfully designed, with furniture in natural wood tones paired with simple curtains. The view outside the window showcases gently flowing streams, instantly relieving the fatigue of travel. I particularly loved the inn's attention to detail: handwoven rugs, rustic celadon tea sets, and even amenities infused with the natural scent of osmanthus. The most delightful surprise was the inn's breakfast—freshly made red bean porridge, handmade scallion pancakes, and local specialty osmanthus cakes, each brimming with the flavors of Jiangnan. The owner was warm and welcoming, even offering recommendations for hidden culinary gems nearby. At night, sitting in the inn's courtyard, listening to the chirping of insects while sipping tea, I truly experienced the essence of "slow living."
