Birtvisi Fortress is Wildly Cool

#summervacay Checked out Birtvisi Fortress in Kvemo Kartli Province, and it honestly felt like an adventure from the start. You’ve got to hike through this rugged, rocky terrain to even get there, but the whole trail is part of the fun. It’s not super easy, but not crazy hard either, just enough to feel like you’re exploring something epic. The fortress itself is basically scattered ruins hidden among massive rock formations. It’s not your usual castle-on-a-hill type of place, it’s tucked into nature, almost camouflaged. Climbing up some of the rocks gives you amazing panoramic views, especially if you hit it at golden hour. There’s a wild, untouched feel to the whole area. No signs, no crowds, just you, the rocks, the wind, and maybe a few goats. Definitely bring water, snacks, and solid shoes. If you’re into nature, cool ruins, and don’t mind a bit of a hike, Birtvisi is 100% worth it. It’s off the beaten path and absolutely awesome.
