Ancient Canal Trail + Waterfall Cluster The canal trail, built during the Japanese colonial period, connects the scenic areas along Neidong Creek and Daluolan Creek. The trail is gentle and features elevated boardwalks and waterfall viewing bridges, allowing visitors to enjoy the three-tiered Neidong Waterfall and Wusha Creek Waterfall simultaneously. • Butterfly Paradise The trail is lined with butterfly-attracting plants such as Aristolochia and host plants for white butterflies. **Late spring to early summer (April–August)** is the best time for butterfly watching, with frequent sightings of Common Bluebottle, Common Jay, Taiwan Swallowtail, and various small butterfly species fluttering around. • Pristine Forest and Refreshing Valleys The area boasts a high forest coverage rate with ancient trees and crystal-clear, cool streams. The combination of waterfalls, butterflies, and lush greenery creates a natural healing space. Approximately 1–2 hours Starting from the trail entrance, walk the entire Ancient Canal Trail (about 1 km) to admire butterflies and the historic canal scenery. Continue along the Waterfall Viewing Trail (about 1.2 km) to reach the waterfall cluster and experience a forest bath. +0.5 hours Pause by the creek to enjoy the sight of fluttering butterflies and the soothing sound of flowing water. Observe butterflies resting on flowers and grasses, as well as creek fish swimming in the clear waters.
