Tamsui: Take the MRT to the end of the line and enjoy the sea

If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Taipei without venturing too far, simply hop on the MRT Red Line (Tamsui-Xinyi Line) and ride it to the last stop, Tamsui Station. Here, you'll find a quieter atmosphere, cooler breezes, and unexpectedly stunning views. As soon as you step out of the station, you'll immediately feel the seaside vibe. Right in front of you is the Tamsui Riverwalk, a wide path for pedestrians and cyclists that stretches along the riverside. The ambiance is incredibly relaxing, especially in the evening when the sun begins to set. The golden light reflecting off the water, coupled with the view of Guanyin Mountain across the river, creates an indescribable sense of tranquility. Along the way, you'll find snack stalls, cozy little cafes, and occasional street performers. If you love photography, visiting during the evening is highly recommended as the lighting is perfect, especially on clear days. Walk a bit further and you'll reach the Tamsui Evening Market, filled with local delicacies such as peanut ice cream, fried shrimp skewers, stinky tofu, and a variety of souvenirs.
