Tired of the concrete jungle and fast-paced city life, I’ve always dreamed of finding a place where my heartbeat could slow down. This time, in Lijiang Ninglang, I discovered Daogu Inn and realized that the "poetry and distant dreams" I longed for were hidden in this village embraced by lush mountains and clear waters. 1. Open the Window to a Scenic Mountain Landscape The natural scenery surrounding the inn is the most captivating feature. A short walk leads to a verdant meadow—blue skies stretch endlessly, white clouds float like cotton candy, and distant green mountains rise and fall like a watercolor painting casually sketched by nature. I especially loved the meadow dotted with small yellow flowers (as shown in the photo). A gentle breeze sways the blossoms, painting the world with a soft hue. A Taste of Mountain Freshness: From Foraging to the Table In Ninglang, you mustn’t miss the local wild mushrooms. Following the inn’s guidance, we ventured into nearby forests to experience the fun of mushroom picking (as shown in the photo). The joy of finding plump porcini mushrooms with your own hands is indescribable! Back at the inn, the chef transforms the fresh mushrooms into culinary delights. A plate of stir-fried porcini with green peppers is served, the mushrooms’ rich aroma blending with the peppers’ crispness, bursting with flavor on the palate. The best part? Dining on the terrace overlooking the village and mountains (as shown in the photo)—savoring the delicious mushrooms while gazing at the layered peaks and scattered houses, even the breeze carries a sense of contentment. 4. Terrace Tea Time: Stealing a Moment of Leisure The inn’s terrace is my personal "healing corner." In the afternoon or evening, brew a pot of local tea, sit on a folding chair, and watch the clouds drift by while listening to the rustling of leaves in the mountain breeze (as shown in the photo). Occasionally, I chat with other guests about travel stories, or simply daydream, watching the sunset gild the mountain peaks.
