A Free Sanctuary: My Quiet Moments in Poznań’s Basilica

#europeonbudget One of the main types of attraction in Europe has to be churches/cathedrals, most of which are not only impressive in different styles but even free. And this basilica is my favorite free sanctuary in the Eastern Europe. No tickets, no lines - just push open the heavy wooden door and step into another world. The neo-Gothic arches catch the light differently each time I visit, painting new shadows across the worn stone floors. I always leave a few złoty for candles by the icon, watching their flames dance in the drafty nave. That's the real admission fee here - not money, but moments of quiet wonder stolen from the city's rush outside.
