Unexpectedly, Shanghai's urban renewal projects can also become beautiful photo spots—Yong'an Fang.

While sitting in the hotel lobby and looking out through the glass windows, I noticed rows of neatly arranged red-roofed white houses. Curious about what they were, I searched online and discovered that they were Yong'an Fang—a century-old Shikumen architectural complex that residents had moved out of several years ago. From the outside, you can still see its exterior walls and balconies. Although they are quite dilapidated, you can still imagine their original beauty. The outer walls are painted with images of many iconic Shanghai landmarks, such as the Wukang Mansion, Huxin Pavilion, and the Oriental Pearl Tower, all in a nostalgic style. Walking around the walls, taking photos, and enjoying the scenery is truly relaxing. Located on Yong'an Road, it is diagonally opposite the Bund Flower Hall·Yuyuan. If you take Metro Line 14 and exit at Yuyuan Station Exit 7, heading towards the Bund via Renmin Road and turning into Yong'an Road, you will pass by this spot. If you're interested, you can visit before nightfall to take photos and then head to the Bund.
