Shanghai: The City Where Tradition Meets Futuristic Skylines

#shanghai is one of those cities that feels like stepping into two different worlds at once. On one side, you’ll find quiet alleyways filled with steaming dumpling stalls and ancient temples. On the other, glittering skyscrapers and neon lights paint a scene straight out of a sci-fi movie. This dynamic blend makes Shanghai one of the most fascinating cities in#asia . When I planned my trip to #china , I booked my flights and hotel in Shanghai through Trip.com, which made exploring this massive city far less intimidating. From colonial architecture on the Bund to futuristic towers in Pudong, here’s everything you can’t miss when visiting Shanghai. 🏙️ 1. Stroll Along The Bund The Bund is Shanghai’s most iconic waterfront promenade. On one side, you’ll see stately colonial buildings from the early 20th century. On the other, across the Huangpu River, the futuristic skyline of Pudong rises with the Oriental Pearl Tower and Shanghai Tower dominating the view. ✅ Visit at night to see the skyline lit up in dazzling colors. ✅ Take a river cruise for a unique perspective of both sides. 🏯 2. Wander Around Yuyuan Garden Escape the hustle of the city in this classical Chinese garden. With koi ponds, stone bridges, and intricate pavilions, Yuyuan feels like stepping into a peaceful painting. Tip: Don’t miss the nearby Yuyuan Bazaar, where you can try xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) fresh from the steamer. 🛍️ 3. Shop in Nanjing Road If shopping is your thing, Nanjing Road is a paradise. It’s one of the world’s busiest shopping streets, lined with luxury boutiques, massive malls, and local stores selling everything from silk scarves to quirky souvenirs. 🏙️ 4. Go Up the Shanghai Tower Standing at 632 meters, the Shanghai Tower is China’s tallest building and offers a jaw-dropping observation deck. On a clear day, you can see the entire city sprawled below you. For an unforgettable experience, grab a cocktail at one of the sky bars. 🏮 5. Explore the French Concession This leafy district feels like a European village, with tree-lined avenues, Art Deco buildings, and charming cafes. It’s perfect for a relaxed afternoon walk.

The Bund

#tripaway without any doubts, this is my favorite spot in all Shanghai! The bund! The Bund or Waitan is a waterfront area and a protected historical district in central Shanghai. The area centers on a section of Zhongshan Road within the former Shanghai International Settlement, which runs along the western bank of the Huangpu River in the eastern part of Huangpu District #shanghai #china #asia #architecture #tripaway
