Hiroshima, a meaningful journey to learn about peace.

Hiroshima is one of the most serene yet profoundly moving cities in Japan. While it bears the scars of war, it is also home to many places that convey the value of peace, making the trip not just a sightseeing experience but a time for reflection. The first stop was the Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome. The Atomic Bomb Dome, preserved as it was, spoke volumes about the horrors of war, and the artifacts and records displayed in the Peace Memorial Museum weighed heavily on the heart. However, the countless paper cranes and the Peace Bell scattered throughout the park carried a heartfelt wish that such tragedies never happen again. Next, I took a ferry to Miyajima. The red torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine, seemingly floating on the sea, was truly a breathtaking sight. The scenery transformed completely with the tides, creating a mystical atmosphere. The deer roaming freely around the shrine added a sense of leisure to the trip. Hiroshima is also renowned for its cuisine. The Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, layered and grilled on a teppan, was soft and rich in flavor, while the seasonal Hiroshima oysters were fresh and delicately delicious. Lastly, I visited Hiroshima Castle. Although the building was reconstructed after the war, it blended harmoniously with the surrounding landscape, exuding a tranquil and peaceful vibe. The exhibits inside the castle provided deeper insights into Hiroshima's history and culture. Hiroshima is a city that remembers the past while advocating for peace, and it is a travel destination that encompasses nature, tradition, and gastronomy. It was not just a trip but a profound experience that will stay with me for a long time.
