Savoring Yamaguchi’s Local Delights

#summervacay After visiting Rurikiji Temple, we stopped by Choshuen, a charming souvenir shop and cafe nearby. Having already sampled the Yamaguchi Kawara Soba at Yuda Onsen, we used our Yamaguchi Fun Pass coupons to try their specialty 'ouchi-ningyo yaki' – adorable traditional Japanese confections shaped like dolls and filled with sweet red bean paste. These dolls are iconic in Yamaguchi, and you can even spot an ouchi-ningyo doll in front of Yamaguchi Station. We also enjoyed tempura, ice cream, and matcha tea – everything was delicious!
