Kawara Soba: A Must-Try in Yamaguchi

#summervacay Must-try in Yamaguchi: Kawara Soba! We took the advantage of the ¥1,500 coupon for Choshuya Yudaten Restaurant offered by the Yamaguchi Fun Pass. The restaurant is conveniently located within 8-10 minutes' walk from JR Station. However, the atmosphere was marred by a strong smoke smell that permeated the entire shop. We tried the kawara soba, beef rice, and Yamaguchi fugu (pufferfish). Except for the beef rice, everything was delicious. The kawara soba was a highlight – the noodles were crunchy, and the experience of dipping them into the dashi bowl was unique and memorable. The beer was also very nice. We were required to order a drink for each of us with our meal. Please note that this restaurant only allowed one coupon per group bill. Average per person around ¥2,000 with the coupon. Overall, I'd rate this shop 3.5 out of 5, with the smoke smell being a major drawback.
